Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How much do you charge? It depends on the size of your company. If you’re earning from $0 to about $200,000 in gross receipts a year, then both business tax returns might cost you under $1000. If your business takes in more than that amount each year, you’ll have to choose between an 1120 or an 1120-S. 1120 is used for corporations with over $1 million in gross receipts and has a higher level of detail. This form also applies if you have any foreign involvement at all.
  2. How long would it take to complete my tax return? The time it takes to complete a business tax return depends on the form that is being filed. The three most common forms are 1120, 1120-S, 990. 1120 is for businesses that are organized as corporations, the 1120-S is for businesses that are organized as S Corporations, and the 990 is for nonprofits. The 1120 and the 1120-S are both long forms with many questions and calculations required. The 990 is shorter but still has several pages of questions
